Get to know the resort
The cable car from Vigo climbs to Ciampedie at 2,000 m and opens the Catinaccio sector, with red and blue piste flowing back through pine forest and a memorable view of the Rosengarten's pink spires. From there a network of lifts and pistes reaches Canazei, Pera and the rest of Val di Fassa, with onward connections to the Sellaronda and the Dolomiti Superski. The village stays family-sized: a Ladin parish, a museum dedicated to Ladin culture (Museo Ladin de Fascia), wooden balconies, and a few good Stuben where canederli, casunziei and the local Teroldego do the talking. Prices are calmer than Alta Badia, and the place still feels like a real valley rather than a resort showcase. Best for skiing intermediates, families and anyone who values the Catinaccio's sunset.
