Falcade-San Pellegrino

Falcade strings out along the upper Biois valley at 1 145 m, a Belluno Dolomites village under the spires of the Pale di San Martino. The lift link over the Passo San Pellegrino to Moena weaves it into the Trevalli circuit of 100 km, with the Marmolada and the Civetta lining the horizon and the Dolomiti Superski pass valid for everything.

Ski-in/ski-out

Ski-in/ski-out at Falcade is mainly at the Passo San Pellegrino, where a string of hotels sit right on the pistes. Down in the village proper you take the gondola, and a few addresses on the lower slopes get close.

Get to know the resort

From the centre a gondola lifts you to Le Buse, where wide reds traverse east towards the San Pellegrino pass and on to Alpe Lusia above Moena. The setting is the best argument for Trevalli: every chairlift faces a different Dolomite wall and the long red from Col Margherita drops you back to the pass with the Marmolada in your eye. The Pinet snowpark on the Falcade side has lines for every level, and the off-piste itineraries off Cima Uomo are well known to local guides. Down in the village a few hotels and locande sit on the main piazza, with a couple of mountain restaurants up top serving casunziei and Schiz cheese. Falcade itself is quieter than the showier Cortina addresses, with Veneto rhythms, an evening passeggiata, and ski bus links to Moena and Predazzo. Cross-country trails follow the Biois for a flat second day.
