Get to know the resort

Vemdalen Experience binds Vemdalsskalet, Björnrike and Klövsjö with a shared pass and shuttle, giving a varied 53 km network on 31 lifts. Vemdalsskalet is the bolder of the three, with the wide-open Norra Backen above the tree line for early-day cruising and a chance of wind-blown powder on cold continental days. Björnrike sits in the protected forest below and is built around easy progression for children, while Klövsjö offers wider intermediate carving and the longest tree-lined runs of the group. The combined elevation range tops at 947 m, modest by alpine standards but generous in snow thanks to the dry continental micro-climate of central Sweden. Off the snow, the villages keep an authentic, low-rise Härjedalen feel, with timber farmhouses and bakery cafés rather than international chains. Reliable cover holds from late November through April.
