Ski-in/ski-out

Most lodging is grouped at the foot of the Hovden-Hundskinn slopes, so functionally ski-in ski-out, particularly the hytte cluster on the lake side.

Get to know the resort

The skiing is laid out on the Hovden-Hundskinn sector, a single broad fjäll rising to 1,100 m above the lake. Twenty-eight kilometres of pistes split fairly evenly between green, blue and red, with a small handful of black runs along the steeper south face. Lift queues are rare, the ski-school setup is generous, and the village base sits within walking distance of every lift. Each March the Lofsdalen Hundkapp dog-sled race comes straight through the centre of town, an event that has become the village's calling card. Beyond the pistes there is a real network of cross-country tracks across the open fjäll and lake. Lofsdalen will not headline anyone's lift-stats list, but it delivers a small-but-real Swedish week with reliable snow and easy logistics.
