At the very head of the Zillertal, the Hintertux glacier is famous as the only place in the Alps open for skiing 365 days a year, rising to 3250 m. The 60 km of glacier and valley piste are high, reliable and a magnet for early-season training and powder days, with the Gefrorene Wand cirque holding superb snow. It joins the rest of the Zillertal on the regional Superskipass, so a single ticket reaches well over 500 km across the valley.
