Get to know the resort
The Zillertal Arena links Zell am Ziller with Gerlos, Königsleiten and Hochkrimml, offering wide, well-groomed runs that are ideal for families and confident intermediates, topping out around 2,500 m for reliable snow. The valley setting is easy to reach: Innsbruck is roughly an hour away by car, and the train runs right up the Zillertal. Add in some of the best après-ski in the Alps, and Zell makes a natural base for a sociable week on the snow.
Good to know
- The terrain is well balanced: 8 green, 18 blue, 50 red and 7 black runs, which suits a mixed group skiing together at different levels.
- From 580 m at the base to 2500 m up top, the resort leans on grooming and snowmaking in lean spells (score 75/100).
- At 150 km of piste on 52 lifts, it is a substantial mountain that earns a multi-day stay.
- The lifts typically turn for about 21 weeks a season, planning around late January to late February tends to land the most reliable cover.
