Get to know the resort
Formiguères sits on the high Capcir plateau, one of the sunniest and snowiest pockets of the eastern Pyrenees, just a few kilometres from Les Angles. Its 25 km of piste wind through pine forest from 1700 m up to 2350 m, sheltered, gentle and very family-friendly, with a quiet old Catalan village at the base. It is a low-key, affordable spot for relaxed skiing away from the crowds, and a good pairing with the Capcir's nordic trails and snowshoe routes.
Good to know
- The terrain is well balanced: 6 green, 8 blue, 8 red and 3 black runs, which suits a mixed group skiing together at different levels.
- From 1700 m at the base to 2350 m up top, the resort leans on grooming and snowmaking in lean spells (score 78/100).
- It is a compact resort, 25 km of piste on 9 lifts, best as a day trip or a relaxed short break rather than a week-long base.
- The lifts typically turn for about 17 weeks a season, planning around late January to late February tends to land the most reliable cover.
