Ski-in/ski-out

Ski-in/ski-out is limited to a few hotels next to the base lifts at 1,190 m. The village is compact enough that most accommodation is a short walk from the gondola.

Get to know the resort

Sella Nevea is one of those rare Italian addresses that feels like a secret. The base village sits at 1,190 m in a tight bowl below the north-facing slopes of the Canin, where Adriatic moisture meets cold mountain air and turns into the most reliable late-season snow in the eastern Alps. From the top station a cable car connects across the ridge to Bovec and Kanin on the Slovenian side, so a single lift pass covers two countries and a wider domain than the 30 km of piste on the Italian flank suggest. The terrain skews red and black, with 5 black pistes and a freeride reputation that pulls Austrians and Slovenes in March and April when other resorts are already closing. The 8 blues serve as connectors more than playgrounds. Off the marked runs the Canin bowls hold powder for days after a storm. The village itself is tiny, a handful of hotels and rifugi, so book early or stay in Tarvisio down in the valley. The season runs from December 7 to April 21 and, in heavy years, snow lingers into May on the upper Canin.
