Get to know the resort
Les Sybelles ties together five Maurienne villages, La Toussuire, Le Corbier, Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves, Saint-Jean-d'Arves and Les Bottières, into the fourth-largest linked domain in France, 310 km of mostly wide, sunny intermediate piste. The skiing peaks at the Ouillon at 2620 m, a hub where all the sectors meet and the views open across the Arves and Belledonne ranges. It rarely feels crowded and undercuts the famous Tarentaise resorts on price, which makes it a quietly brilliant choice for families and cruising intermediates.
Good to know
- The terrain is well balanced: 24 green, 50 blue, 45 red and 15 black runs, which suits a mixed group skiing together at different levels.
- The base sits at 1100 m and the top reaches 2620 m, a profile that holds snow well across a normal winter (score 80/100).
- It is one of the bigger domains here, 310 km of piste on 70 lifts, enough to ski a different sector every day of a week.
- The lifts typically turn for about 17 weeks a season, planning around late January to late February tends to land the most reliable cover.
