Hauteluce

Hauteluce is the quiet stone-built side of the Beaufortain, a working farming village strung at 1,150 m below Les Saisies. The lift access drops you straight into the Espace Diamant, with the Mont Blanc in plain view on a clear morning. After Megève one valley over, the place feels deliberately undeveloped.

Ski-in/ski-out

Ski-in/ski-out at Hauteluce is limited: only the modest cluster of properties at the Belleville lift base, a short way above the old village, is truly door-to-piste. The stone-built heart of Hauteluce sits below the lift and is a five to fifteen minute drive or shuttle ride to snow.

Get to know the resort

Hauteluce is one of five entry points to the Espace Diamant, a 192 km linked domain that connects Les Saisies, Hauteluce-Les Contamines, Crest-Voland-Cohennoz, Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe and Praz-sur-Arly. The lift from the village climbs to the Col des Saisies ridge, where the network of mostly blue and green piste opens out over a soft, rolling landscape of pine and pasture. Intermediates can cover the whole domain in a long day, with red descents into Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe and Praz-sur-Arly worth the trip. Expert skiers will run out of vertical, but the touring potential into the Beaufortain ridges behind is real. The village itself keeps its dairy farms, its Beaufort cheese production and its eighteenth-century baroque church, with the Belleville-style Savoyard architecture intact. Evening life is restaurant-bound and ends early, which is part of the appeal.
