Get to know the resort
Réallon is the kind of small French resort that no longer sees much weekend traffic: a working stone village above the Serre-Ponçon lake, 35 km of piste on the Pic de Charance side, and lift-pass prices that look like a misprint compared to the bigger southern Alps stations. The terrain suits beginners and intermediates, with 10 green and 12 blue runs feeding back to the village base, and a small but credible network of red and black pistes off the upper Pic de Charance lift for stronger skiers on a quiet day. Views down to Serre-Ponçon from the top of the lifts are part of the appeal; on a clear day you see straight across to the Les Orres sector and back along the lake to Embrun. The southern exposure means a lot of sun and a season that can shorten quickly in mild years, especially below 1,800 m. There is no resort nightlife to speak of, just a couple of bars and family restaurants in the village.
