Brigels

Brigels sits on a sunny terrace of the Surselva at 1,280 m, with the Glarner Alps filling the horizon across the Vorderrhein. Lifts link it to Waltensburg and Andiast for 60 km of joined piste, and the Rhaetian Railway brings you up the valley from Chur in under an hour. Family-shaped, quiet, and well-priced by Graubünden standards.

Ski-in/ski-out

A small cluster of hotels sits directly above the gondola base on the home run, but most of Brigels village is a 5 to 10 minute walk or bus from the lifts.

Get to know the resort

Brigels keeps its old name (Breil in Romansh) and the look of a Surselva farming village, just with a gondola added at one end. The lifts climb to Crap Sogn Gion at 2,228 m and Schreidegg at 2,418 m, and the higher slopes connect by piste and short transfers to Waltensburg and Andiast. The 60 km offer a relaxed mix of blue and red runs, mostly south to southwest facing and lit all day, with sheltered tree skiing back into the village. Snow holds well from early December to early April thanks to the terrace exposure and reliable Surselva cold spells. Beginners love the long Plaun Tudal nursery and the cable car-served carousels, while stronger skiers cross to Andiast for the more pitched runs over the Stogel. The Rhaetian Railway up the Vorderrhein is one of the most underrated approaches in the Alps, climbing slowly past the canyon of the Ruinaulta. Evenings are quiet, with a handful of guesthouses serving capuns and Surselva sausage, plus a small thermal pool in the village.
