Get to know the resort

Laxfjäll rises from 460 m to 880 m, with 13 km of pistes on six lifts spread across a steep north-facing slope that has trained Swedish racers for half a century. The piste mix leans technical for the size of the area, with a high share of red runs and a single demanding black off the top. Stenmark grew up training on this hill in the 1960s, and the village still runs a strong race-club tradition, with junior squads visible on the slalom lanes most mornings. Beyond the lifts, the lake-and-fjäll landscape opens up to long cross-country loops and back-country routes towards Norway. The valley remains active Sami country, with reindeer herds, kåta and Sami cultural centres easy to visit. Hemavan, 18 km up the E12, doubles your lift acreage and adds the Vindelfjällen reserve to the week.
