The Kessel-Bergstadl sector rises from 690 m to 1,670 m and offers 15 km of piste on six lifts, evenly split between blues and reds with three short blacks for variety. It is not a destination for big-mileage skiers, but the snow record is solid and the place stays delightfully uncrowded thanks to the gravitational pull of Reit im Winkl next door. Where Inzell genuinely shines is in the 60 km Inzell-Reit im Winkl Loipe network, a Chiemgau classic that links the two villages on perfectly groomed flat and rolling terrain. The Max Aicher Arena adds a singular off-piste day: a covered 400 m speedskating oval where you can rent skates and lap the same ice the World Cup peloton uses, the only such public access in Bavaria. Inzell itself keeps its working-village character, with traditional Gasthof inns, a low-key aprรจs-ski scene, and Bauernhaus accommodation on the surrounding farms. For families who want snow-sure cross-country, gentle alpine skiing, and a quieter alternative to Reit im Winkl, it is one of the most honest value picks in the Bavarian Alps.
