Get to know the resort
Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse sits inside the Chartreuse Regional Park, an old monastic centre under the saw-tooth cliffs of Chamechaude, less than an hour from Grenoble. Its 35 km of piste, shared with Le Planolet, are mostly gentle and tree-lined, perfect for families and improvers, with the bonus of grand limestone scenery on every chairlift. It is a peaceful, traditional alternative to the high-altitude resorts further south, with the Chartreuse monks' herbal liqueur as a memorable winter warmer.

- It is a compact resort, 35 km of piste on 12 lifts, best as a day trip or a relaxed short break rather than a week-long base.
- The lifts typically turn for about 15 weeks a season, planning around late January to late February tends to land the most reliable cover.
