Get to know the resort
Guzet, often called Guzet-Neige, is tucked into the wooded Couserans valleys of the Ariège, one of the greenest and least developed corners of the Pyrenees. Its 40 km of piste wind through spruce and fir forest across three sectors up to about 2100 m, sheltered and atmospheric, with gentle runs for families and a handful of steeper lines. There is no slope-side town, so it keeps a peaceful, unspoilt feel, the kind of place locals guard jealously.
Good to know
- The terrain is well balanced: 6 green, 10 blue, 10 red and 3 black runs, which suits a mixed group skiing together at different levels.
- From 1400 m at the base to 2100 m up top, the resort leans on grooming and snowmaking in lean spells (score 75/100).
- It is a compact resort, 40 km of piste on 14 lifts, best as a day trip or a relaxed short break rather than a week-long base.
- The lifts typically turn for about 15 weeks a season, planning around late January to late February tends to land the most reliable cover.
