Ski-in/ski-out

True ski-in/ski-out is limited because the lifts climb from the valley floor. The closest stays sit by the Brauneckbahn base, a short walk from Lenggries train station, and the village itself is compact enough for boot walks of just a few minutes to the cable car in the morning.

Get to know the resort

Lenggries sits at 700 m at the foot of the Brauneck, with the cable car climbing directly from beside the station to a 1,556 m summit. The ski area covers 32 km across 12 km blue, 12 km red and 3 km black, served by 17 lifts, and includes the cult Garlandabfahrt and Streidlhang reds, plus a permanent racing slope that has shaped generations of German racers. The Brauneck has been the Munich club skier's training ground for decades, and many German Olympians made their early turns here on weekends from the city. Off the slopes, Lenggries keeps a quietly handsome Bavarian village character, with a frescoed parish church and the wide Isar valley opening north, and the train link from Munich Hauptbahnhof to Lenggries station is one of the most useful in the Alps for a quick weekend or a car-free week. Booking, Expedia and Hotels.com list village stays in Lenggries itself and a small cluster of mountain hotels near the cable car base, with the season running 14 December to 7 April.
