Italian Alps, Italy 🇮🇹
Folgaria sits on a sunny plateau at 1,170 m above the Adige valley, the main village of the Alpe Cimbra. The Folgaria-Lavarone-Lusern lifts knit together a relaxed 104 km of mostly intermediate piste, and the Dolomiti Superski pass is on offer for days when you want to roam further into Trentino.
Usually, with help. From 1170 m to 2007 m the resort leans on grooming and snowmaking in lean spells, so check the live report before booking early or late dates (score 74/100).
Ski-in/ski-out depends on the address here: some hotels are on the snow, others need a short walk or shuttle. Pick a slopeside address if skiing from the door matters to you.
With 104 km of piste on 24 lifts, it is a mid-size area, easy to get to know over a long weekend. The terrain is balanced (0 green, 30 blue, 25 red, 8 black), which suits a mixed-level group skiing together.
Folgaria stands out for a family-friendly setup.
The season usually runs Dec 7 to Apr 7 (about 17 weeks). For the most dependable cover, the deep-winter window of January to February is the safe bet. Conditions soften as spring arrives, so earlier in the window is the safer call.
