Deer Valley

Deer Valley is the white-tablecloth address of the Wasatch, a ski-only resort where attendants park your skis at lunch and the dining rooms keep their linen pressed. Beneath the polish lies a surprisingly broad mountain, and the Mayflower expansion will nearly double the place by 2026.

Ski-in/ski-out

Genuine ski-in/ski-out is the norm in Silver Lake Village and around the Snow Park base, where the high-end hotels and condos sit on the snow. The new Mayflower base will add fresh ski-on lodging from the 2025-26 season onward.

Get to know the resort

Deer Valley has built its reputation on small touches that other resorts skip. The ski-only policy, in place since the resort opened in 1981, is the most visible mark, but the real culture shows in the valet-style ski parking, the limited daily lift-ticket cap and the genuinely strong food in the on-mountain restaurants. None of this would matter if the skiing were boring. It is not. Six bowls and almost 150 kilometers of piste-equivalent terrain spread across Bald Mountain, Flagstaff and Empire, with serious black runs in Empire Canyon and tree skiing through Daly Bowl that lifts the resort out of cruiser-only territory. The ski school is among the best in North America, family programmes are thoroughly thought through, and the Alterra ownership puts the resort on the Ikon Pass. The Mayflower Mountain expansion, opening in phases through 2026, will almost double the lift-served area and add a brand new village on the east flank. Deer Valley suits families who want their ski week to feel calibrated, ski-only purists, and travellers who view a long, civilized lunch as part of the sport.
