Get to know the resort
Boí Taüll has the highest base in the Pyrenees at 2020 m, tucked away at the head of a remote Catalan valley near the Aigüestortes national park, which gives it famously dry, light and long-lasting snow. Its 45 km of piste climb to 2751 m over wide, sunny, mostly intermediate terrain, quiet even at peak times thanks to the resort's out-of-the-way location. Below lie the tiny stone villages of the Vall de Boí and their UNESCO-listed Romanesque churches, making this as much a cultural trip as a ski one.
Good to know
- The terrain is well balanced: 5 green, 12 blue, 14 red and 6 black runs, which suits a mixed group skiing together at different levels.
- The base sits at 2020 m and the top reaches 2751 m, a profile that holds snow well across a normal winter (score 82/100).
- It is a compact resort, 45 km of piste on 10 lifts, best as a day trip or a relaxed short break rather than a week-long base.
- The lifts typically turn for about 17 weeks a season, planning around late January to late February tends to land the most reliable cover.
