Cogne is a stone-built Aosta Valley village at 1,534 m, set on a wide meadow under the Gran Paradiso, and the nordic-skiing capital of Italy. The 80 km of cross-country tracks on the Sant'Orso meadows draw the cognoscenti, while the modest 9 km alpine area keeps the village blissfully unrushed.
