The Via Lattea, or Milky Way, links Montgenèvre in France with Sestriere, Sauze d'Oulx and the other Italian villages of the 2006 Olympics into around 400 km of sunny, high piste straddling the border. It is vast, varied and great value on the Italian side, with long descents and big views. Cross from France to Italy and back on a single pass.
