Andes, Chile 🇨🇱
Valle Nevado sits at 3,025 metres above the Andes, a sleek purpose-built resort 60 km east of Santiago. Born in 1988 from a French Compagnie des Alpes vision, it offers Chile's highest base, dependable powder from late June to early October, and panoramic terrain that opens onto the Tres Valles interconnect.
Generally yes. From 3025 m at the base to 3670 m up top, the profile holds snow well across a normal winter (score 85/100).
Most hotels sit right on the snow front, so this is genuine ski-in/ski-out: park once on arrival and ski from the door, with no daily driving or shuttle.
It is a compact area, 37 km of piste on 14 lifts, best for a short break or a focused trip rather than a full week. The terrain is balanced (9 green, 17 blue, 12 red, 6 black), which suits a mixed-level group skiing together.
Valle Nevado stands out for snow-sure high-altitude slopes and a vast, multi-sector domain.
In the Southern Hemisphere the season runs roughly Jun 27 to Oct 5 (the local winter), with July and August the most reliable.
