Bavarian Alps, Germany 🇩🇪
Hindelang-Oberjoch is the highest village in the Allgäu at 1,130 m on the Oberjoch pass, the snowiest spot in Germany with around 4 to 5 m of average annual snowfall, and 32 km of piste spread across a sunny high plateau.
Usually, with help. From 1130 m to 1559 m the resort leans on grooming and snowmaking in lean spells, so check the live report before booking early or late dates (score 78/100).
Ski-in/ski-out depends on the address here: some hotels are on the snow, others need a short walk or shuttle. Pick a slopeside address if skiing from the door matters to you.
It is a compact area, 32 km of piste on 11 lifts, best for a short break or a focused trip rather than a full week. The terrain is balanced (0 green, 15 blue, 12 red, 3 black), which suits a mixed-level group skiing together.
Hindelang-Oberjoch stands out for a family-friendly setup.
The season usually runs Dec 7 to Apr 7 (about 17 weeks). For the most dependable cover, the deep-winter window of January to February is the safe bet. Conditions soften as spring arrives, so earlier in the window is the safer call.
