Get to know the resort
Borovets suits beginners, families and intermediates looking for sheltered, scenic skiing without the high prices of the Alps. The Yastrebets gondola climbs to the upper slopes, the tree-lined runs are forgiving in poor visibility, and the lively base packs in budget hotels, bars and ski hire. Reaching it from Sofia takes around 1 to 1.5 hours by road, which makes Borovets the closest big resort to the Bulgarian capital.
