Italian Alps, Italy 🇮🇹
The flat-topped Plan de Corones rises over the Pusteria valley, with 119 km of immaculately groomed piste cascading off the summit in every direction. Family-perfect skiing on the Dolomiti Superski pass.
Generally yes. From 950 m at the base to 2275 m up top, the profile holds snow well across a normal winter (score 80/100).
This is more of a valley base than a slopeside village, so expect a lift, train or shuttle to the snow each morning. Staying central, near the main lift, saves the most time.
With 119 km of piste on 32 lifts, it is a mid-size area, easy to get to know over a long weekend. The terrain is balanced (0 green, 50 blue, 50 red, 19 black), which suits a mixed-level group skiing together.
Kronplatz stands out for a family-friendly setup.
The season usually runs Dec 7 to Apr 14 (about 18 weeks). For the most dependable cover, the deep-winter window of January to February is the safe bet. Conditions soften as spring arrives, so earlier in the window is the safer call.
