Sobaek Mountains, South Korea 🇰🇷
Eden Valley is South Korea's southernmost ski resort, set in Yangsan, just an hour from the beaches of Busan. With a base at only 220 m, the slopes lean entirely on heavy snowmaking and a tight ten-week season. Come for the novelty of skiing in the morning and dipping toes in the East Sea by sundown.
It depends on conditions. At 220 m to 643 m this is a lower-altitude resort, so lean on the live snow report and stay flexible on dates (score 52/100).
Ski-in/ski-out depends on the address here: some hotels are on the snow, others need a short walk or shuttle. Pick a slopeside address if skiing from the door matters to you.
It is a compact area, 7 km of piste on 5 lifts, best for a short break or a focused trip rather than a full week. The terrain is balanced (1 green, 2 blue, 3 red, 1 black), which suits a mixed-level group skiing together.
Eden Valley stands out for a family-friendly setup.
The season usually runs Dec 14 to Feb 25 (about 10 weeks). For the most dependable cover, the deep-winter window of January to February is the safe bet. Conditions soften as spring arrives, so earlier in the window is the safer call.
